Happy Dragons Theatre CIC is a community-based theatre company working in Monmouthshire, Wales, committed to creating performance experiences for and with the community. Through performances and workshops, we encourage people to create theatre that reflects their culture, history, language and lived experience.

Our Team

RHONA RICHARDS
Rhona is an actor, director, and workshop facilitator who is passionate about theatre that is accessible and inclusive.
She is an experience director of community and inclusive theatre, having previously been a the Artistic Director of Jersey Youth Performing Arts (JYPA) and an Artistic Associate with Side by Side Theatre. Both companies champion the inclusion of neurodiverse and learning disabled people in the performing arts. Rhona is also a volunteer with Brecon-based Theatr Wildcats, an inclusive theatre company where members use drama, music, movement and dance to get their voices heard.
As a director/writer, Rhona created original musical adaptations of 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream' and 'Romeo and Juliet'. She has also directed several musicals, including and 'Grease', 'Bugsy Malone', and 'Annie'.
As an actor, Rhona has worked on stage and screen in the UK, Jersey and Luxembourg. Theatre highlights include performing in Samuel Beckett's seminal works 'Not I' and 'Footfalls' and premiering the improvised show, 'The Virginia Monologues' at the National Theatre of Luxembourg.
